Getting Out of Dodge – as They Say
For our 1st wedding anniversary we’re heading to the Eastern foothills of the Cascades for some rest and relaxation for the next 4 days. Some of my Dad’s golf buddies, who refer to themselves as “the Chuckleheads” generously got together to give us a gift certificate to a place called Sleeping Lady, as a wedding gift. I’ve got no misgivings about getting totally off the grid (I know we won’t), but I’m very excited about the opportunity to take tons of pictures. Friends who have crossed the pass recently tell me the leaves are starting to turn to fall colors.
I’m gathering up a random smattering of books I’ve been meaning to read, music I want to listen to, clothes I never get to wear (cotton summer dress anyone?) and looking forward to exploring the cute little shops in Leavenworth for Christmas gifts I know at least my mother-in-law will appreciate. If you happen to have a favorite place to visit out there let me know, I’d love to check it out – I know we’ll have plenty of free time on our hands.
