Disgusting to See U.S. Government Honoring Communist China

A friend tipped me off to this story from the AFP this morning: Empire State Building turns red-yellow for China’s 60th

Tomorrow, the Empire State Building in New York City will be lit up in red and yellow to honor the 60th anniversary of community China.  I’ve seen some hints on Twitter that the mortgage of the building may be controlled by Chinese (government or private individuals) but that is not confirmed.  Regardless, I hope New Yorkers realize they have good reason to be furious as their (now, following September 11th) tallest building is being bathed in the colors of a communist regime responsible for mass murder and enslavement of millions of people.

You know what else is ironic, some of the tenants such as the Human Rights Watch on the 34th floor.  You’d think they’d be a bit upset too.

Also noticed the Nathaniel Branden Institute was once a tenant, interesting.

Just to clarify, what makes you say it’s the “U.S. Government” honouring China? I don’t see any reference in the linked article.

Only that the building is a national landmark, I guess it probably is private property — properly owned by the Chinese govt or a Chinese citizen actually, wouldn’t surprise me
